Gallery Doug Aitken at Inhotim Contemporary Art Institute, in Brumadinho, Brazil, exhibits Sonic Pavilion (2009). In the middle of the building is a cavity that goes up to 200m under the earth, in which were installed ultrasensitive microphones, that are able to perceive the ‘sounds of the earth’ and amplify them, allowing the visitor to listen to an incredibly amazing noise that comes from the dephts of the planet.
